I just received a most generous box today of card-making supplies for the Thank-You-Note-athon from Stamp Fanci in the North Hills.  They are the largest rubber stamp store in Pittsburgh.  From my research, they are THE place to go to for card-making.  With what she provided, ANYONE can make a nice personal thank you note, that really is a gift in itself.

Last week I had a lovely conversation with Carole Davis, the owner of Marjie Allon Fine Stationery,  in Shadyside.  Before I said more than a few words she was off gathering me a wonderful supply of thank you notes for the Thank-You-Note-athon portion of the event.  She told me she was previously a teacher and that naturally supporting a literacy cause was close to her heart.  All the while she’s adding more and more beautiful cards to the supply.  Plus a few journals, perfect for a gratitude practice.

Early on, Maria Polinsky of the Greater Pittsburgh Literacy Council asked Half Price Books for some donations, and we got our start on a beautiful supply.

Be thinking of all the people in your life you are grateful for, and come join us to reflect on gratitude, hear some heart-opening music, write a few thank-you notes, and enjoy good food and company.
